5 Great Singapore Restaurant Designs

Here is our take on some exceptional restaurant designs that will inspire you to take some action on realising your dreams!

Salt Grill & Sky Bar

Perched on one of the highest points of Orchard Road, Salt Grill & Sky Bar is one of the most stunning places in Singapore. This establishment is capsuled in the shape of a bird cage, showing off a panoramic skyline of the cityscape.

Created by celebrity chef-restaurateur Luke Mangan, the place has won praise for its food, service and ambience since inception in October 2010. Its menu features contemporary Australian cuisine by the chef and house signatures. The restaurant’s recent renovation also gave it a refreshed look, whilst adding on an exclusive private dining area and a new bar area on its mezzanine.

This is definitely one great example of how exemplary design coupled with distinguished cuisine can create an immense desire within your customers.

CÉ LA VI

CÉ LA VI (inspired by the French phrase “C’est La Vie” or “This is life”) is another great example of how a restaurant utilises the benefits of being in a good location to enhance and complement the restaurant design and cuisine.

The multi-tiered restaurant and alfresco club lounge captivate the hearts of its diners by offering them an unblocked view overlooking the Marina Bay and the CBD skyline.

One key point to highlight is the deliberate choice of materials being used to distinguish the restaurant and bar concept within the same space. The use of natural wood and marble within the restaurant offers a clean aesthetic design that creates an environment that opens one’s appetite to welcome the food that is being served.

With the black drapes and high seating in the bar, it creates a mysterious but yet cosy ambience, which is just about perfect for an evening of unwinding in the company of good friends.

1919 Waterboat House

Waterboat House takes you back into time, almost a century ago through simulating the historical environment of a waterboat house setting in 1919. Its spacious and lofty interior pairs up nicely with its exquisite and quaint contemporary European dining experience.

History has its very unique way of enhancing the flavour of a meal. The use of antique photos and furniture adds a dimension of elegance and nostalgia when you partake a meal in the restaurant. That’s what The Boathouse at Fullerton aims to inspire.

Pollen

“Gardens by the Bay” is one of Singapore’s biggest and latest showpiece. Its unique architecture accentuates our fame as a garden city, a title that we have been proud of since the nation was founded. “Pollen” presents visitors with a refreshing and beautiful fine-dining experience.

For its design, the consistent use of the garden-dining concept throughout the restaurant is a learning point to adapt for aspiring restaurant owners. An indoor space has been created for the main dining hall in the presence of a lush garden while the upper terrace depicts an al-fresco dining experience with a garden setting.

When it comes to the food styling of the Mediterranean cuisine, the restaurant incorporates the use of beautiful greens and flowers to complement the ambience. The entire experience shouts out to your palate and the beautiful setting is visually appealing to the eye as well.

ATLAS

We love hidden jewels and ATLAS is definitely a gem worth uncovering. ATLAS is nested in Parkview Square, which in turn drew inspiration from the iconic Art Deco skyscrapers of New York and Europe. Similarly, the bar and grand lobby has its backdrop set in the Jazz Age 1920s of America and Europe. Think The Great Gatsby and Midnight in Paris.

At the bar is award-winning Head Bartender Roman Foltán, whose fame rose out of Artesian at the Langham from London. The bar menu features a curated collection of the finest gins and spirits from all over the world. Reminiscent of a gentlemen’s club, the design shows off the flamboyant revelries and grandiose of the era. This result is something truly unique in Asia.

The thoughtful use of local heritage and international culture to tailor a luxurious experience that feels like a step back into time. It is almost like polishing a gem to give it a new brilliance all over again.
